Canon 10-color pigment LUCIA printer ink System Featuring the same LUCIA pigment ink found in the ImagePROGRAF series printers, the Canon PIXMA Pro9500 Printer’s 10-pigment ink set produces professional-quality, archival photographic prints. The Gray, Photo Black, and Matte black ink produce monochrome photographs of unrivaled quality on fine art and glossy photo paper. Gray ink reduces grain, banding and metamerism and virtually eliminates color shifts. Unlike black ink that increases contrast, matte black ink increases black density on fine art paper while maintaining detail in shadows. With 10 individual in tanks, users can replace a single color reducing waste and saving money.
The Canon Pro9500 Printer’s ink is less sensitive to light and environmental factors. Therefore, prints have incredibly smoother gradations and are of archival quality. Pro9500’s pigment ink set also exhibits excellent color stability with virtually no short-or long-term color drift – an important consideration in color-managed workflows.
Wider Color Gamut
The Canon Pixma Pro9500 Printer’s pigment-based 10-ink system includes dedicated Red and Green inks, which enables the reproduction of a much wider range of colors with superior tonal gradation. In particular, when compared to conventional inkjet printers limited to CMY inks, color reproduction is much improved in the yellow to orange, red, and green color ranges. Thus, whereas typical inkjet printers to a color gamut more closely associated with the sRGB space, the Canon Pro9500 enables photographers to work in the wider Adobe RBG space from capture to output.

Canon ChromaLife 100 Photo Printer Ink Jet System for Long Lasting Photographs
ChromaLife 100 is a system that improves beauty and permanence of printed images, realized with the combination of Canon's dye ink* and select genuine Canon photo media.

By printing with the ChromaLife100 system, your printed photos will resist color fading and you can enjoy long-lasting beautiful photos displayed in a typical indoor environment.

*ChromaLife100 compliant ink types: CLI-8, CL-41/51/52 and BCI-16 ink cartridge

ChromaLife 100 System
ChromaLife 100 is a system comprised of FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) printhead, select Genuine Canon photo printer inks and select Canon photo printer papers.* All photographs will fade over time. Light, heat, humidity and environmental gases such as ozone, SOx and NOx are some of the real world factors that can accelerate the rate at which a photo will fade.

ChromaLife100 photo inks and paper are designed to help withstand common, real world conditions that can cause a photo to fade.

FINE printheads are made with a micro-manufacturing process that allows for high density, smaller diameter, precisely aligned nozzles. ChromaLife100 photo inks are printed using Canon's own FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) printheads. FINE printheads and the wide color gamut of ChromaLife100 dye-based inks combine to provide exceptional detail and vibrant colors.
Improved Contrast
Higher-density black provides improved contrast. The new dye-based black ink in Genuine Canon CLI-8 and BCI-16 photo printer inks boosts optical density (OD) values compared to previous generation product. The improved black increases the contrast not only in black areas but throughout the entire image, enabling the creation of high-quality photo prints with a dynamic three-dimensional feel.
Introduction and Purpose
As an aid to consumers, Canon Inc. has pre-performed simulated, accelerated image permanence testing to predict estimated longevity of photos printed with the Canon ChromaLife100 system. Canon, however, cannot guarantee the longevity of prints; results may vary depending on printed image, drying time, display/storage conditions and environmental factors.
Making your printed images last longer
Light, environmental gases, high temperature and humidity can accelerate color fading. When displaying your photographs, avoid high intensity lighting and use glass-filtered frames. Photos stored in the dark, using archival quality albums or storage materials, will tend to last longer than photos that are exposed to light. Avoid high temperatures and high humidity to promote the image permanence of your photos.

* Results based on accelerated testing by Canon under controlled temperature, humidity, and gas conditions. For the 100-year figure, Canon simulated storage in an album with plastic sleeves. For the 30-year lightfastness figure, Canon simulated display of a photo in a glass frame in an indoor location without direct sunlight or other high intensity light. The 10-year gastfastness figure is based on a testing ratio of gases typical to indoor air composition (O3: NOx:SOx--3:19:1) with 100 times concentration in order to accelerate color fading. Canon cannot guarantee the longevity of prints; results may vary depending on printed image, drying time, display/storage conditions and environmental factors.
